Ahh, WordPress…

…you fiendish bastard. That’s right, I just insulted the crap out of you. But only because I’m mad at you. Because you’re like a map I can’t read, mostly only because I didn’t write or build the template I’m working with. Ashley P. and I started to crack the code though, so I might just start to like you yet. Maybe. Talk to me next week. If I can find access to the Internets while I’m away for Ritual Sacrifice with Pie Day.

I just hope I have an epiphany like I did with CSS back in my Web I days. That will be a good day.

Mobile site is up…

So, yay me!

Here is it, in it’s tiny glory.

Aww, isn’t it all cute and small? I had fun with such a different format, and with stripping things down to the basics (yes, I can be basic!). I know it works on iPhoney, but not a real iPhone. If anyone tests it, let me know how it works, would you, por favor?

Running wild…

with scissors. Or with the semester, rather.

Here’s site numero dos: redux (although I forgot to post the first dux, so how would you know?).

That is all.

Happy Birthday John Lennon

You would have been 70 today! I’m listening to your music now and feeling a little sad, but mostly happy that you gave us what you did. Peace to everyone today—go outside and enjoy it!

“We all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun.”

We are the champions…

of Web. Except that we’re not. :) No sense here, folks!

I’m just listening to Queen, so that’s what wrote. Life imitating art, or however that goes. The real message here is that my brain is only at half mast today. Sleepiness. Routine. Insomnia. The usual suspects, all of which prevent me from remembering that I’m supposed to be talking about Web -related activities here (and now). I’m on the web, does that count?

Must find second wind before class, or some form of caffeine at least—that’s such a crutch. At any rate, I think I’ll be re-slicing and dicing my dc PSD file, with the shiny new nav and all. Ideas are there, just need to do it. Isn’t that the way it always goes?

But first, I’m Under Pressure to be off to the Seven Seas of Rhye (get it?). Me so clever.

Happy Chip Kidd Day!

All right, in honor of Chip Kidd’s visit to SUNY Oz, we didn’t have to go to Web. :)

No wait, it was more than getting out of class. Trust me!

For those of us that saw Kidd’s morning (and afternoon and evening) talk, we saw the complete range of his “talking in front of people” style. So for those of you who only attended the 7pm talk in Waterman, you might have been just utterly depressed by it. I was, but in a good way. Having been in serious, Milgram study, the horrors of humanity mode, it made the hilarity of the the earlier talks even more…hilarious-er. But it also gave me have a greater appreciation of the ending of The Learners. Now instead of wanting more, I just feel happy for Happy. His plan did waythehellnot go according to plan, but he gained salvation nonetheless. And where there was a sadness, there is now a pleasant, warm and fuzzy feeling. I want to be Happy. Only still me. Alive. Doing right by others. And, of course, I want a design job and a friend like Tip. “Crispy!”

Also, Kidd has a comic in the works—it’s written, he’s just waiting for the art to be done. So hurry the hell up, you Brit artist. You know how impatient we across the pond are!

I’m ba-ack!

Hey there. I have returned to the land of Oz. Oh yeah, dig it. I’m re-immersing myself in the world of web (or rather, am trying to). So far, so confusing. But some things are starting to come back to me (I remember how to do a link!!!…Ok, so I looked at my notes. Don’t judge me.)

So yeah, for the CSS tutorials site, I forgot what design it, and focused on making stuff work! Hopefully I’ll figure everything out so I can blow the first project out of the water! :)

Ta ta for now, fellow webbers.

and in the end…

emoade….

and it’s process site….

for your beveragey enjoyment.

Well campers…we’ve made it! Almost. Today is the second to last day of classes (for me anyway–take that, suckas!). And not a moment too soon; my brain is very melty.
I definitely learned a lot this semester and in this class. Rock on.

Lots of blood, sweat, and tears went into this crazy little thing called Web I (and I’m so not kidding about the blood–I cut my finger on the mat board when I was mounting the layer comps for the emoADE website).

Yeah, I’m mad cool and super dedicated to the wonderful world of web. And the rest of you are, too. So let’s keep our shoulders to the wheel for about another week, then we can collapse into the sweet smell of summer (and possibly several beers). Shiny!

Yay! Friday was a big surprise for all us cool-people-winner-types. You know who you are. We all got a frickin sweet bonus for being good book learners. Shiny!

Now we just need to get crackin’ on our layer comps. Time to start plugging our crazy ideas into Photoshop and CSS. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Off for now. Learning a wee bit about human computer interaction.
