Well campers…we’ve made it! Almost. Today is the second to last day of classes (for me anyway–take that, suckas!). And not a moment too soon; my brain is very melty.
I definitely learned a lot this semester and in this class. Rock on.

Lots of blood, sweat, and tears went into this crazy little thing called Web I (and I’m so not kidding about the blood–I cut my finger on the mat board when I was mounting the layer comps for the emoADE website).

Yeah, I’m mad cool and super dedicated to the wonderful world of web. And the rest of you are, too. So let’s keep our shoulders to the wheel for about another week, then we can collapse into the sweet smell of summer (and possibly several beers). Shiny!

Yay! Friday was a big surprise for all us cool-people-winner-types. You know who you are. We all got a frickin sweet bonus for being good book learners. Shiny!

Now we just need to get crackin’ on our layer comps. Time to start plugging our crazy ideas into Photoshop and CSS. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Off for now. Learning a wee bit about human computer interaction.

The ball is rolling.

And the bag is catless. Devin now knows about our brilliant idea for Project 3–emoADE! Brought to you by Blank-in-a-Can!

Gloria is Photoshopping, Jon & I are CSSing, and Arlee is making us all pee ourselves as he writes our copy. Kick ass. I cannot wait to unleash it on an unsuspecting populace.

More to come…

Our group rocks!!!!

So much so, in fact, that half of us don’t even have to come to class! ;)
Yes, Jon and I are the nerds and Gloria and Arlee are the rock stars! Too cool for school. Well, I hear Arlee’s got the plague, so I suppose that’s legit.
But, whatever, Jon and are are big kids, we can handle it…the sadness, the overwhelming sense of abandonment. I’m familiar with it (thanks dad)…
Ah, guilt trips. I love ‘em.

And Gloria, you totally missed out on this totally bitchin’ “Is this a banana in my pocket or am I just happy to see you?” joke. So there. It’s gone now. The joke, not the banana. I’m saving that for lunch.

Project 2 is complete! Muhahahaha!! I had a CSS epiphany on Thursday, and started all over again. And things were much better. Weeeeeeee! It made my break! (Not even lying, since pretty much all of my break consisted to work and homework, and Easter dinner at Gloria’s–thanks again, g!)

Anyway, here it is. Enjoy!

blerg.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not really having much more luck w/ CSS on this project. Sometimes it’s fine, then most of the time it’s not. I’m so frustrated! Almost all of my pages are exactly the same (only content/images change) and still, things are all wonky. Grrr! Headache. Hopefully I’ll see some of you guys in the library or lab this weekend and we can help each other!!! :)
Happy Easter, in the meantime…

Yay–Julia, Sarah, and I will be ta-ing for Amy’s 207 class in the fall. Eek!!!  I’m already calling us The Three Amigos, who will rock the socks off of those newbies.

Gloria is…well, I’m speechless. There’s something about a cell phone and creepy Joe, and I’m just not asking.

So, anyway, I’m not at all ready for this website. I am feeling so behind on this project because I’ve been focusing on other stuff. But I’m only feeling behind because I am behind…I’m trying to remedy that.

Now off to the pre-crit. that I am in no way ready for.

Grr. Arrgh.

K, so life blows really big chunks sometimes.

A: My roof leaked all weekend cuz my apartment is a piece of crap.
B: I have no money. And I don’t mean, “I have no money” like all of us say and think we mean. I mean, I have $300 to my damn name and I owe $440 for rent tomorrow (yes, I’m getting screwed). Which brings me to…
C: I’m so frakking moving as soon as the semester is up. Don’t know how, since I have no car or people to help, but I’m doing it. Can’t wait, cuz then I’ll be back near home, with my bro as my roomie again, which is awesome!

Anyhooski, all of this drama rama left me not-in-the-creative-mood this weekend, so my comps for Project 2 are horrendous! But they are done, and the basic gist will be gotten. I think.

Yeah, so, on that note…I’m going to go see if I can sell a kidney…Sigh.

Yippy skippy!

Well, Project 2 is getting under way. Thumbs are done, albeit not very well, but they’re done! Content is done, ready to be revised, which I, as a nerd, am ok with. Now I’m ready to get some roughs done so I can really figure out what I want the site to look like.
As for imagery, I want to do some fun little doodles, as if I’m just writing and drawing in my composition book, as I often do. They may be animated, maybe. Maybe not. We’ll see.

P.S. Julia: “Old people talk!!!”

We’re baaaack.

That’s meant to be read with the creepy “they’re here” inflection from Poltergeist. I don’t know how well it comes across virtually…
Anyhoo, we managed to make it back to class after a week of nothingness, so, go us! Now we put our nose to the grindstone, trying to come up with ideas for Project 2. (If we were smart we would have done this over break…ah, hindsight)
I have an idea and a bunch of silly dialogue, but I’m lacking a real plot…in short, I’ve got a lot of work to do. I always come up with things that I think are funny, but you all will probably just try to have me committed.
So, I’m trying to work in a zombie or two (but not in squirrel form, as requested by…Julia, methinks), but I need to justify having someone wake up a zombie without having any idea that they actually died. These are the tricks of the biz!
I’m going to stop rambling for now and try to focus on the actual “writing the story” part of writing the story.
